I’ll read until the words swim

until the pages are so washed out and sun-bleached

I can’t even make out the meaning

I’ll keep reading anyway

going through the motions

if you looked, it might fool you

but that’s not really reading is it

better to close the book at that point

move on

not waste time pretending

like I’m getting something out of it
